Who is osteopathy for?
In principle, anyone can visit an osteopath
In principle, anyone can undergo treatment by an osteopath. From babies and children to adults, including pregnant women, everyone is welcome at Osteopaat Amsterdam.
Is osteopathy suitable for me?
Whether osteopathy will be effective for your symptoms depends on the following factors, among others:
- Are there tissues in your body with reduced mobility that could cause or be related to your symptoms?
- Can this reduced mobility be fully or partially restored, or is your tissue so damaged that recovery is not possible?
- How strong is your ability to recover? In other words, how is your vitality and are you able to contribute to your recovery? For example, by changing your diet and lifestyle habits.
Only after an osteopathic examination will it be clear to what extent osteopathy can help and what the nature of the treatment will be. During your first appointment, you will have a conversation with the osteopath about your complaints and lifestyle habits, after which he will examine you thoroughly. You will immediately be told whether osteopathy is suitable for you and which treatment plan applies to you.
An osteopath is not a substitute
An osteopath is never a substitute for your general practitioner, specialist, paediatrician or health clinic. If you have any medical complaints, it is wise to contact your doctor to rule out any underlying diseases.
Reviews
“I had a nagging pain in my back for a while. Sessions with my physiotherapist had little effect and it kept coming back. This osteopath/Jop has a very relaxed approach and I felt very at ease. But more importantly, I no longer have any complaints and can carry heavy loads again!”
